- The passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday was felt by Helena Christine, a Mountain Brook resident originally from England who has lived in the Birmingham region for 29 years. “She’s very committed. I think she was very committed to keeping the commonwealth together," she told CBS 42. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
- Eighty-four percent of Mountain Brook City schools students performed at or above grade level in English in the Spring 2022 exam period, data released last week shows. Seventy-seven percent were at grade level in math, and 81 in science. Statewide, the outcomes were significantly lower, with 47 percent of all tested students reaching proficiency in English language arts, 37 in science and 27 in math. (AL.com)
