Caroline, a 7th grader, was recognized for her selection as the 2021 Outstanding Gifted Student Award winner for the Alabama Association of Gifted Children (AAGC). Russell received this award because of her service to gifted students last year (2020-21) at Cherokee Bend Elementary. After learning that the school’s gifted students would not have a Special Olympics, she organized one and help plan the entire event.
Junior High Cross Country Teams
In October, both MBJH boys and girls cross country teams won the Metro Championship. Head Coach Randy Stephens and MBJH Principal Donald Clayton presented the two teams to the Board.
