Mountain Brook Schools Need Subs: Job Fair Scheduled This Week

Mountain Brook Schools will hold a job fair for substitute teachers as COVID-19 affects staffing throughout the system.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — As the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, faculty at all of Mountain Brook's schools has been affected, and the system is in need of substitute teachers. Hence, the system is hosting a "sub fair" Thursday for potential substitute teachers.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Mountain Brook Board of Education building, and potential subs can come and learn more about being a substitute employee for the school district. This is open for anyone interested in a teaching, custodial or child nutrition substitute positions.

MBS is also seeking a Substitute Ambassador. The pay will be sub pay, up to 20 hours a week. They will be responsible for the following:

- Recruiting new subs
- Assisting people interested in subbing by holding Career Fairs and explaining the process
- Working with new subs
- Assisting subs who have specific needs
- Answering questions about the sub process
- Liaison between the school district and Kelly Services.
