1. Here's a list of some of the beloved small businesses and restaurants that closed in the Birmingham are this year. They include Over Easy restaurant in Mountain Brook Village, Carrigan’s Mountain Brook and the Macy's at Brookwood Village. (Bham Now)
2. The Mountain Brook Spartans fell short against Buckhorn 60-52 in a basketball game that went into overtime at the Huntsville City Classic. Ty Davis scored 17 points for Mountain Brook. (AL.com)
3. Neighbors close to the Moody, Alabama landfill fire say that state agencies aren't responding with enough urgency to the blaze that has been burning now for 30 days, which they say is causing headaches and smoky conditions in their homes. One woman said she could smell the fire from her house twenty miles away in Irondale. (WVTM 13)
