  1. Thursday's football game between Mountain Brook and Vestavia Hills is one of five matches to watch this week. The Spartans have defeated Vestavia Hills in their past five match-ups. Mountain Brook's team includes Quarterback John Colvin and top receiving target Jackson Beatty. (AL.com)
  2. A large development could be coming soon to the last undeveloped portion of the Liberty Park section of Vestavia Hills. It would bring 600 homes built over 25 years, as well as specialty retail, a luxury hotel and restaurants in a new town center. (WVTM 13)
  3. The Cahaba Riverkeep, an organization that helps to maintain the Cahaba River which flows through parts of Mountain Brook, has identified high levels of E. Coli near Old Overton Road and several other areas. Urban sprawl and construction have made the river harder to maintain. (WVTM 13)
