1. Deanna Newman, 51, a Mountain Brook resident, will be competing on the United States duathlon (running and biking) team this weekend. One of the older players on the team, Newman has been running professionally for ten years. She's also a cardiac rehabilitation nurse at St. Vincent's Hospital. (WVTM 13)

2. Eva-Maria Raudsepp, 17, is the only female sumo wrestler from Estonia competing in the World Games. After growing homesick, she took a visit to the Birmingham Zoo where she got to meet and feed a giraffe — her favorite animal. (WVTM 13)

3. Believe it or not the World Games closing ceremony is already right around the corner. It will begin on Sunday, July 17 at 8 p.m., presenting a message of "unity" coordinated between participants of 21 nationalities. (CBS 42)
