Here are the top three stories in Mountain Brook today:

  1. Wednesday was the first day back to school in Mountain Brook. Here's a look at happy students as they filled their classrooms. Here's how the day looked in Mountain Brook Jr. High, Crestline Elementary, Mountain Brook High School, Mountain Brook Elementary, Brookwood Forest Elementary, and Cherokee Bend Elementary. (Twitter)

Mountain Brook schools athletics programs are ranked top in Alabama overall, having secured a fall state championship in girls volleyball and girls cross country, and being spring champions in boys golf, boys soccer, girls tennis, girls track.   3. The Mountain Brook City Council passed a resolution at its last meeting asking the owner of 751 Bentley Drive to move a structure that was damaged recently by a fallen tree. The Council also discussed car thefts in Crestline and took several steps to move forward on addressing drainage issues relating to flooding. (Village Living)
