- Mountain Brook running back Cole Gamble is the offensive player of the year in the Starnes Media All-South Metro Football Team. Homewood's senior quarterback Woods Ray won the title of overall best player of the year. (Village Living)
- Alabama Power has announced it is planning another rate hike of $7 in January 2023, in addition to the $10 per month increase already implemented this December. The company said the increases are due to costs associated with compliance to federal requirements, as well as inflation. (WVTM 13)
