- The EPA has been making some progress in putting out the Moody landfill fire, using dump trucks to cover it with dirt, although they say it could still take several weeks to be completely gone. In the meanwhile, the agency has launched an interactive website to track the current conditions. (WVTM 13)
- There is still $25 million available for residents of Jefferson County that need help paying for rent and utilities. It's provided through the Alabama Housing Finance Authority, with distribution being managed by the Birmingham Urban League. (WBRC 6)
