  1. Meet M.K. Quinlan, the owner of a new concept shop in Forest Park Village, with everything from "high-end vintage clothing to jewelry, textiles, fine art and unique objects for the home." Formerly a journalist, interior designer and stylist, Quinlan was born and raised in Birmingham, where she returned to become part of the city's "creative resurgence." (Over The Mountain Journal)
  2. In addition to lots of local and state-wide candidates, there's also three amendments on the ballot next Tuesday. One of them, Amendment 2, would allow local governments to use federal funds for Wi-Fi, especially benefiting rural areas. Amendment 3 would require that the governor seek approval from the Alabama attorney general before reducing a death sentence to life in prison. (WVTM 13)
  3. A typical customer can expect their electricity bill to increase by $10 a month starting in December, according to a statement released this week by the Alabama Power Company. (WVTM 13)
