- “It’s a blessing and just a gift. I worked every day for 11 years in the original Zoes, so I’ve missed it, and happy to be coming back," said Zoe Cassimus, the original co-founder of Zoes Kitchen, which is reopening soon in Crestline Village after the company that had bought it and changed the menu closed down its other locations. - A new sci-fi film, "The Shift" is being filmed across the Birmingham area from now through early March, including in Mountain Brook as noted by the Chamber of Commerce. They're also looking for local extras — or at least they were very recently. "The visual textures of the city are ideal; it’s perfectly located between additional resources in Nashville and Atlanta and the community has been very welcoming. We’re grateful to be working here," said producer Ken Carpenter, describing what drew him to the area. (Bham Now)
