  1. Mountain Brook's popular Otey's Tavern is opening a second location in Homewood's Edgewood. It's opening up next to Frothy Monkey, a new coffee shop serving alcohol. Construction will begin in late July. (Bham Now)
  2. A new local app called BUZD now offers same-day delivery of alcohol and other products top Mountain Brook in less than 30 minutes. It takes advantage of a bill signed by Governor Kay Ivey last year allowing for "the delivery of sealed beer, wine and liquor from licensed retailers to homes in Alabama." (Bham Now)
  3. John Michael Pierce, from Vestavia Hills, passed away last year from esophageal cancer at only 25 years old. Now, he's being honored by family and friends through the creation of the John Michael Pierce Foundation, which will hold its first golf tournament on August 1. The foundation's goal is to raise awareness about the form of cancer that took his life. (WVTM 13)
