- Over Easy, a popular brunch spot on Hollywood Boulevard between Mountain Brook and Homewood off of US 280, is closing for good this week after twelve years in business. The owners decided not to renew their lease, according to a statement, which added that "True happiness is a bowl of purple grits.” (AL.com)
- Mountain Brook High School's volleyball team ultimately proved victorious against Hoover High, winning three out of two matches after a rough start on Tuesday night. (Mountain Brook Schools via Twitter)
- Emma Wells Strait, the owner of Mountain Brook's Heezie's, shares with readers of Southern Living what she thinks you should bring to a party when the hostess says to bring nothing; many times nothing doesn't actually mean nothing.
