"As it pertains to student health and safety, we are continuing to see minimal student-to-student transmission of COVID in our school buildings," a statement from Mountain Brook Schools said. "Our voluntary, self-reported COVID numbers are a snapshot of the number of cases we are seeing in our system. We urge families to talk with their children about safe practices to mitigate the spread of COVID while not at school. The system also reported 91 students considered "close contact," of which five have returned to school.
