  1. The resurfacing of the Red Mountain Expressway will need to wait until April due to winter temperatures, officials with the Alabama Department of Transportation said. The $16.5 million project began last spring ahead of the World Games but was delayed slightly by early fall rains. (WVTM 13)
  2. The City of Hoover is hoping to attract more tech businesses to its Meadow Brook Corporate Park and Inverness Center North, which border Highway 280. "Anything we do to improve and raise property values and create new real property opportunities in the area," according to the city's economic development manager Greg Knighton. (WBRC 6)
  3. Alabama saw 300 COVID-19 hospitalizations this week — the highest amount since Oct. 1, as COVID-19 and flu cases continue to rise throughout the state and test positivity rates also climbing. That's still far from the nearly 3,000 COVID-19 patients in Alabama hospitals last winter. (AL.com)
