Chauncey Leopardi, one of the actors from the iconic movie The Sandlot, said recently on The Today Show that it was 'incredible' to hear the story of the Mountain Brook boys who performed CPR on their father after watching the film. Leopardi played 'Squints,' the character who almost drowns. (TODAY)
2. Here's where you can find free back to school supplies around the Mountain Brook and Birmingham area over the next couple of days before classes start. For one, they'll be a 'Back 2 School Party' in Hoover on August 7. (WVTM 13)
3. Mountain Brook's school system has been busy renovating several buildings this summer. But it's not the only city making improvements. Hoover schools just approved a plan to build a new $15 million performing arts center. (AL.com)
