School Board Recognizes Student Achievements

The Mountain Brook Board of Education Monday night recognized the recent achievements of several students.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — The Mountain Brook Board of Education honored multiple students in the system for their recent achievements at Monday night's meeting.

In addition to student recognition, the Board also accepted a check from Rep. David Faulkner (R-Mountain Brook), expressing his gratitude and support of the school system.

MBJH Choir
Miriam Barrett, Eleanor Couch, Sam Eagan, Olivia Mahoney, Lily Padgett, Camden Rhodes, Samantha Settle and Sorina Shirley were named to the Alabama All-State Chorus and recognized in front of the board.

District Spelling Bee Winners
All five winners from each school’s Spelling Bee were recognized. District winner Ben Brown (MBE) was honored along with individual school champs Alexander Ewers (BWF), Davis Perry (CBS), Trent Boehme (CES) and Olivia Mahoney (MBJH).

MBHS Jazz Band
Four MBHS students were named to the All-State Jazz Band for the state of Alabama. These four students — Drury Anderson, Bronze Band Percussion; Creed Allen, Bronze Band Vibraphone; Alan Mobley Burgos, Silver Band Piano; and Teddy Kent, Silver Band Bass — performed before the meeting for those in attendance.
