1. A rare snow goose was sighted by bird watchers in Mountain Brook Village earlier this week. "Many Snow Geese spend the winter at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge near Decatur, AL, but very few come farther south," said Alabama Audubon Executive Director Dr. Scot Duncan. 2. According to Neighborhood Scout, Mountain Brook is one of the wealthiest towns in Alabama. The average household income in the town is $152,355, which is 121.8 percent more than the median U.S. income. More than 97 percent of the workforce is reportedly employed in white-collar jobs. 3. A deadly shooting occurred on the Jefferson/Walker County line on Thursday, Jan. 19. The Walker County Sheriff’s Office issued warrants for Corey Ryan Mahaffey, 36, and a juvenile male. Mehaffey is wanted for capital murder during a robbery and capital murder aiding and abetting. (WBRC)
