1. Superior Grill, the nearly three-decades-old Tex-Mex restaurant on US 280, closed for good on Sunday. It's been one of the longest-lasting establishments on the busy highway. There's still other locations open in Louisiana. (CBS 42)
2. Mountain Brook's teachers are paid on average at the highest rate in Alabama, at $63,095 last year. Mountain Brook is followed by Shoals City Schools, Vestavia Hills City Schools. Many other school systems throughout the state that don't have as many resources, are struggling to find and retain instructors. (Sand Mountain Reporter)

Changes are coming to Alabama's COVID response strategy – the Department of Health plans to stop releasing daily updates on case counts and positivity rates, opting to release the data once a week on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Currently 700 people in the state are hospitalized with the virus.
