Water Works Project Could Affect Water Pressure In Mountain Brook

A project by the Birmingham Water Works Wednesday could affect water pressure in some Mountain Brook neighborhoods.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — A construction project by the Birmingham Water Works this week could affect water pressure for homes in the Lockerbie and Abingdon neighborhoods in Mountain Brook.

Beginning at 5 a.m. Wednesday, BWW crews will begin a valve replacement project along U.S. 280 at Overton Road. Throughout he day, several residents could experience low to zero water pressure, according to a BWW announcement.

The estimated time for this project is between 8-12 hours.

"BWW is asking customers in the parameter to plan ahead by storing water required for cooking, pets, plants and all other essential needs while service is temporarily shut off," BWW said in a statement.
