Western Market Wins National Award

Since moving to a new location a stone's throw from its old one, Western Market has been honored with a national marketing award.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — A local staple has placed in a national competition for marketing. Western Market, now in its new location in the Lane Parke Shopping Center, was named the winner in the Industry Promotion Category of the Supervalu Master Marketer Awards.

The awards honor independent groceries that utilize Supervalu Inc. as a wholesaler for their marketing efforts. More than 500 submissions were considered for the awards, which are judged on creativity, clarity and effectiveness of marketing.

“As has been the case each year, this year’s group of Master Marketer winners has raised the bar in terms of the quality, creativity and success of their campaigns,” Mike Stigers, Supervalu executive vice president of wholesale, said in a press release. “We received a record number of entries, each demonstrating the unique capabilities of our wholesale customers as they continuously find new and exciting ways to engage their customers in a very competitive marketplace."
