1. Kaylena Mushen, originally born in Oklahoma and raised between the U.S. and Germany, is searching for her biological father René, from Germany, who she knows at one time lived and worked in Mountain Brook. She believes he's in his 50s and was last seen working at an Outback Steakhouse in the Birmingham area. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
2. Alabama's Congressional delegation was split – not on party lines – but how to vote on a health care bill for veterans. The bill, which would bring $280 billion to treat veterans suffering from exposure to toxic substances, was opposed by Republican Senators Tommy Tuberville and Richard Shelby as well as Gary Palmer, Mo Brooks and Mike Rogers. It was, however, supported by Republican Reps. Robert Aderholt, Jerry Carl and Barry Moore. (AL.com)
3. Mountain Brook Schools just released a new safety video with the Fire and Police Departments, with important back-to-school information. Firearms are prohibited on all campuses, officers are assigned to every school building, visitors must wear name tags, and more. Check it out! (Twitter)
