- Authorities found a woman's dead body on Friday in a car pulled into a strip mall 300 block of Hollywood Boulevard, which is off of U.S. 280 between Mountain Brook and Homewood. Police believe her body was there for several days, and are waiting for confirmation before releasing her identity. (AL.com)
- The Israeli women's lacrosse team came in 5th place at the World Games, defeating Japan in their last match-up. The final win, which is the best-ever ranking for Israeli women in the sport, was thanks in part to Olivia Mannon, formerly a Mountain Brook resident with dual US-Israeli citizenship. - The NBA announced that Trendon Watford, who used to play for Mountain Brook High School, is the NBA Summer Championship Game most valuable player. He now plays for the Portland Trailblazers. (Twitter)
