- Olivia Mannon, originally from Maryland, played lacrosse at Mountain Brook High School. Now she's on the Israeli national team competing in The World Games (starting today!) She actually attended Altamont High School in Birmingham, which doesn't have a lacrosse team, but her love for the sport brought her to Mountain Brook. (Bham Now)
- There's a free shuttle bus, called "Ride The Line," that will take you to see the World Games. Just drive your car to Soho in Hoover. Teams from all across the world are already descending onto the city. (WVTM 13)
- The ALS Association of Alabama, which is based in Mountain Brook, is having its first in-person walk on August 7 during ALS Awareness Month. The Association works to raise awareness around the disease, which leads to muscle weakness and currently doesn't have a cure. The nonprofit assists people suffering from it.
