Jefferson County deputies were dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of Red Hollow Road in Pinson on reports of a person shot.
PINSON, AL — A shooting involving two employees at a Pinson business resulted in one man dead and another in custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The shooting occurred shortly after midnight Wednesday at Samuel Associated Tube Group.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies found the body of John Eric Cole, an employee at the business, who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Money said both the shooter and the victim were employees of the business, and this was Cole’s first day on the job. The circumstances surrounding the reason for the shooting are still under investigation, she said.
