Arrest Made In January Homicide In Jefferson County

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police have arrested a man and charged him with murder in the fatal shooting of Dequaris Lydel Williams Jan. 14. The shooting occurred near Pinson Valley Parkway.

Police reports said two shooting victims drove themselves to a gas station at 4141 Pinson Valley Parkway to call for help. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office contacted the Birmingham Police Department after discovering the shooting occurred in Birmingham's jurisdiction.

Both victims were taken to UAB Hospital, where Williams was pronounced dead after arrival.

Birmingham police said Jamarcus Desean McIntyre of Birmingham was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder and attempted murder. He is being held at Jefferson County Jail on $240,000 bond.
