JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A Center Point woman was arrested Sunday and charged with multiple counts of attempted murder, among other charges after she reportedly set fire to an apartment complex.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Lisa Jacole Grayson, 27, was seen vandalizing a car in the parking lot of Parkway Villa Apartments in Center Point when deputies were called to the scene.

"Upon arrival deputies discovered that a male who had been at that location had gone to the hospital by personal vehicle to obtain treatment from non-life-threatening knife wounds," Money said. "There had also been a fire set in one of the apartments."

According to witnesses, Grayson and a man at one of the apparetments were in an argument, and she attacked him with a butcher knife. Grayson’s roommate went outside their apartment and questioned Grayson about the incident, and Grayson then attempted to stab the roommate.

"Grayson then went to the parking lot and destroyed the male victim’s car with a cinder block. She then went back to her apartment, where her roommate and her roommate’s three children were there, " Money said. "She poured lighter fluid and cooking oil throughout the apartment and set fire to it."
