Huskies, Indians, Cougars Maintain ASWA Rankings

Hewitt-Trussville, Clay-Chalkville and Pinson Valley kept their Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings after wins Friday night.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — When you are ranked in the top 5, moving up in the rankings becomes more difficult as you have to rely on some good teams to lose. This is where Hewitt-Trussville, Clay-Chalkville and Pinson Valley find themselves this week after each posted wins Friday night.

The Huskies remained at no. 4 in the Alabama Sports Writers Association 7A poll after a 41-0 blowout over Saraland Friday. Clay-Chalkville remained at no. 2 in the 6A poll after beating Hueytown 57-40 and Pinson Valley's 49-0 hammering of Shades Valley kept the Indians at no. 3.

Hewitt-Trussville will play Spain Park this week, Pinson Valley travels to Gardendale to take on the Rockets and Clay-Chalkville hosts Jasper.
