Jefferson County Sheriff Investigating Monday Bank Robbery

The robbery happened just before 4 p.m. in Clay, authorities said.

CLAY, AL — Jefferson County's Sheriff's Office is investigating the Monday robbery of a bank in Clay.

The bank, an ECO Credit Union in the City of Clay, was robbed just before 4 p.m., the sheriff's office said in a news release.

According to the release, a man in black clothing and a black mask entered the bank in the 2400 block of Old Springville Road and demanded money.

An investigation is ongoing. Authorities had not identified a suspect in the robbery as of Monday.
