Pedestrian Struck And Killed On Highway 79 In Pinson

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A man was struck Sunday night while walking along Highway 79 and Pinson. Jefferson County deputies found the body of the man Monday morning in the 4200 block of Pinson Valley Parkway.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a woman notified the office Sunday night that she was driving on Highway 79 when she struck a pedestrian dressed in dark clothing, but when deputies arrived on the scene they were unable to locate the pedestrian.

Search efforts continued Monday morning when the JCSO received notice that the body of a white man was found on Pinson Valley Parkway. Investigators have determined the dead body is that of the man hit by the vehicle Sunday night.
