Happy Wednesday, neighbors! Michael Seale here to bring you what's happening today in Trussville. Leading off, the Trussville City Council approved a $41 million budget for the fiscal year, the largest budget in the city's history. Also affecting the Trussville area, the Alabama Department of Public Health released a statement urging schoolsystems to keep mask mandates in place for students, staff and faculty, despite a continuing trend of lower COVID-19 cases among students. - As I touched on above, the Trussville City Council adopted the city's annual budget, a $41 million budget that includes a $2.4 million general obligation bond for a police facility. (Trussvilletribune)
- School systems in the Birmingham metro and throughout the state have in recent weeks reported a decline in the number of positive COVID-19 cases among students, but health officials say dropping mask mandates may be premature. (Birmingham Patch)
