Woman Found Dead Inside Center Point Apartment
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has launched a homicide investigation into the death of a Center Point woman.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 31-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment Sunday on Town and Country Circle in Center Point. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the woman's death as a homicide.
Deputies were called to the apartments just before 5 p.m. Sunday after neighbors reported that they had not seen the woman in several days and went to check on her. The neighbors said they could see the woman lying on the floor inside of her apartment and called for assistance, according to Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
"The coroner will determine the manner and cause of the victim’s death," Money said. "Detectives have processed the scene and are currently developing evidence. No suspects are in custody at this time."
