Elementary West Construction to Affect Wald Park Traffic

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — As the Vestavia Hills schools renovations continue, Vestavia Hills Elementary West's cafeteria is getting a facelift. While the cafeteria undergoes construction, part of the side road leading from the playground parking lot to the pool and baseball field lot will be closed, according to the City of Vestavia Hills Facebook page.

The closure will be in effect from Sept. 11 through Nov. 2 while crews complete the renovations. Patrons are advised to avoid the construction zones and enter the Wald Park and Pool lot from the Exchange Field off of Highway 31.

The city's Facebook page also indicated that water service may be affected during the construction, which would mean the pool's closure for up to two days. The city said those dates and other information would be provided as soon as it became available.
