MAX Bus Routes Could Expand In Vestavia Hills

The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority has recommended expanded bus service to Vestavia Hills.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority has recommended expansion of its MAX bus services in Vestavia Hills. The proposal would need City Council approval before being implemented, according to the Vestavia Voice.

New routes proposed by the BJCTA would connect Vestavia to Mountain Brook and its microtransit zone, as well as a new transit hub at Brookwood Village in Homewood, which is also scheduled to receive a new microtransit zone. Expansion would also include an increase of weekday service in Vestavia from nine to 16 roundtrips.

The Vestavia City Council has not approved this expanded service, as it would come at an increased cost to the city.
