Happy Tuesday, people of Vestavia Hills! Let's get you all caught up on the happenings in and around your community today, shall we? First, let's take a look at the COVID-19 cases in Vestavia Hills City Schools. Wow. The numbers have really fallen considerably since the beginning of the school year. And in fact, superintendent Todd Freeman said this past week, the numbers were lower than they have been all year. Read more and get informed below. And have a great rest of your day!


Here are the top stories today in Vestavia Hills:

  1. Vestavia Hills City Schools reported that as of Friday, 16 students were absent because of a positive COVID-19 diagnosis and 23 were absent for close contact. As well, the system had 11 students who tested positive during the week, also the lowest number of the school year. (Vestavia Hills Patch)
  2. Adding new employees and improving the city’s infrastructure are some of the top priorities in the fiscal 2022 budget for the city of Vestavia Hills. (Vestavia Voice)
