New Student-Run Ice Cream Shop To Open In Vestavia Hills

A local nonprofit is opening a student-run ice cream shop in the Birmingham metro area.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — An ice cream shop created to provide job training to adults with developmental disabilities will open Saturday in Vestavia Hills. Unless U Scoops will occupy a 553-square-foot shop is located at 737 Chestnut St., according to the Birmingham Business Journal.

Unless U, a nonprofit providing a faith-based college experience for students with developmental disabilities is based in Vestavia Hills and serves more than 80 adults and their families. The ice cream shop is open Tuesday through Thursday from 1-6 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 1-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-6 p.m.
