Police Chase Begins In Vestavia, Ends In Homewood With 2 Arrests

Vestavia Hills police chased a suspect through Birmingham and into Homewood early Monday morning.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A pursuit by Vestavia Hills police that began early Monday had multiple law enforcement agencies searching for a man in the Birmingham metro. The chase began around 4 a.m. in Vestavia, and continued through Birmingham and into Homewood, according to WBRC.

Vestavia police said the chase began with a traffic stop on I-65, from which the suspect fled into Homewood and wrecked near an apartment complex, where the suspect fled on foot.

The search for the suspect included the Homewood Police Department, Birmingham Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Both the driver of the vehicle and passenger were apprehended.
