Vestavia Bowl to Accept Donations for Hurricane Relief Through September

After enduring its own flooding, Vestavia Bowl is giving back to those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — A local business is taking its past experiences and using it to give back to those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Vestavia Bowl is continuing its charitable efforts through the rest of September, collecting items for hurricane relief.

The bowling alley recently endured weather-related disaster in July when its parking lot flooded to the extent that cars parked in the lot began to float away. Employees had to dig their way out as a result of the flooding. The alley was also required to close for two months in 2014 when the business itself flooded.

“I mean, obviously we get to go home after and we don’t lose our homes from (the flooding),” general manager Angela Nance told TV station WIAT. “It’s a mess and it’s hard to stay positive and push through it. We get it. We just want to help as much as possible.”
