Vestavia City Council Amends BOE Selection Process

In a short meeting Monday, the Vestavia Hills City Council amended the process by which Board of Education members are selected.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Vestavia Hills Board of Education members will be selected through a different process after Monday's brief meeting of the Vestavia Hills City Council. The process will be amended to include a stronger vetting process, according to a Vestavia Voice report.

Candidates for the BOE will now have to "to exhibit high character and represent the city well," according to the report. The changes also include not necessarily setting interviews in the order in which applications are received.
