Vestavia Hills High School Teacher Honored As Finalist For Presidential Award

Math teacher Beth Kaiser was honored as a finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — A Vestavia Hills High School teacher has been named a state finalist for a national award. Math teacher Beth Kaiser was honored as a finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, the U.S.'s highest honor for teachers who work in math, science and computer science.

Kaiser, who teaches Algebra A and B, is one of five finalists for the award, which has been awarded to teachers who excel in their field since 1983. Up to 108 awards are given to teachers nationally each year.

Exceptional Education teacher Shelly Munger nominated Kaiser, whose daughter Sarah also teaches math at the high school.
