Vestavia Hills Theater Students Headed To State Competition
The Vestavia Hills High School theater students had a successful weekend at the 2017 District Trumbauer Secondary Theatre Festival.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — The Vestavia Hills High School theater students had a successful weekend at the 2017 District Trumbauer Secondary Theatre Festival, hosted at Helena High School.
The Walter Trumbauer Festival is an annual theater competition hosted by the Alabama Conference of Theatre that consists of 30 different individual events performed by a single high school student or a pair in duet categories. These events include acting categories in both traditional and musical theater with either comedic or dramatic tones, as well as categories that highlight students' technical abilities in lighting, sound, stage and costume design. Students receive critiques and scores for their performances, with highest achieving acts receiving trophies, plaques or medals at state.
The Rebels took home awards for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and All Star Cast for their production of the studio theatre play "Almost, Maine," as well as sending 11 individual events to the state competition in December. The play is also state bound.
