VHHS PTO Collecting Gift Cards For Exceptional Education Students

The gift cards will go the Exceptional Education Life Skills classes, which teaches students with special needs how to live independently.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL – Amid this week's Homecoming activities, Vestavia Hills High School students will be supporting and raising money for the Bell Center, a Birmingham organization that provides early intervention services for children with special needs. In honor of that support, the Vestavia Hills High School Parent Teacher Organization will be collecting gift card donations for the school's Exceptional Education students.

The gift cards will go the Exceptional Education Life Skills classes, which teaches students with special needs how to live independently with skills like buying groceries and cooking simple meals. The PTO will accept gift cards of any denomination to Publix and Walmart, which will help the classes learn to purchase food.

All gift cards can be turned in to the Vestavia Hills High School front desk by Friday, Nov. 3. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Birmingham Patch morning newsletter.)
