Here are the top stories today in Anchorage:

  1. Anchorage School District Board member Dave Donley is calling for the Anchorage board to condemn the actions of the National School Board Association after they implied that activist parents are domestic terrorists and that they need protection from the federal government against protesting parents. In a resolution to be introduced Tuesday night at the regularly scheduled board meeting, the lone conservative on the board says enough is enough. However, it is not likely Donely's resolution will passed by the hard-left Anchorage School Board. (Must Read Alaska)
  2. An Alabama man was arrested in Anchorage on charges tied to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Christian Matthew Manley, 26, is facing seven charges including assaulting officers, disorderly conduct, and engaging in violence in a restricted building. Manley is being held at the Anchorage Correctional Center and appeared in court on Tuesday morning in Anchorage, although the case will be prosecuted out of the District of Columbia. (Yahoo News)
  3. The Anchorage school board has approved a Covid-19 mitigation and mask plan, and rejected adopting mask policies used at Mat-Su or Kenai schools. (Must Read Alaska)
  4. The University Of Alaska Anchorage will be hosting their annual Nighttime Safety Walk on Oct. 28, in an effort to make the campus a safer place to walk. (Press Release Desk)
  5. After Anchorage lawmaker Sen. Josh Revak was cited for driving with an open can of beer in his car, another state lawmaker, Sen. Scott Kawasaki, claimed the beer was his. (Anchorage Daily News)
