CVS Health Hiring 300 Jobs In Arizona
The company is preparing for the upcoming flu season and continued coronavirus impact this fall.
ARIZONA — CVS Health announced today it will be hiring approximately 300 positions throughout Arizona. The company is preparing for a busy flu season and is expecting to see more coronavirus impact this fall.
The new roles are for part-time and full-time licensed pharmacy technicians at CVS Pharmacy locations across the state. Though the positions are seasonal, some employees will have the opportunity to apply for more permanent positions. CVS will be filling these roles as soon as possible.
“Additional team members typically are needed every fall flu season,” Tobin Zdarko, region director for CVS Pharmacy, said in a statement. “However, we are estimating a much greater need for pharmacy technicians this year given the anticipated rise in demand for flu shots and other immunizations, along with the continued presence of COVID-19 in the community.

The announcement comes as Arizona, like many states, struggles with high unemployment due to the economic effects of the pandemic. As of June, the state's unemployment rate was at 10 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
“This expansion by CVS Health is an important addition to the state’s health care community and will further strengthen efforts to keep Arizonans safe and healthy,” said Gov. Doug Ducey. “We thank CVS Health for its ongoing commitment to our state, and for investing in hundreds of jobs in Arizona.”
