- The Bentonville Fire Department is getting a new fire truck after its 1999 E-One failed to meet standards. The City Council is allowing $1.5 million for a 2024 E-One truck with a 100-foot ladder. The current 75-foot ladder is insufficient for the National Fire Protection Association and the Insurance Services Office. The Bentonville Fire Department will also receive up-to-date pants, coats, boots, helmets, coveralls, and gloves. (Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)
- Idaho-based nonprofit Higher Ground is using mountain biking and the Arkansas scenery to help veterans combat PTSD. Higher Ground has been running its program locally in Bentonville for veterans and their significant others and is set to conclude on Jun. 17. Alaina Wilson, the director of veteran and first responder programs said that Higher Ground has helped thousands of veterans and runs 26 week-long programs a year across eight states! (KNWA)
- The Bentonville Film Festival has added a new cooking experience to the list of festivities! Attendees can watch celebrity Chef Aaron May for free on Good Day NWA at the Momentary Outdoor Theatre Village. Times include Jun. 16 from 3:00-9:00 p.m, and Jun. 17 from 11:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. (KNWA)
