  1. The City of Bentonville is holding a Bike Drive where they hope to collect 150 bikes for Bentonville's 150th birthday. The bicycle drive is in partnership with Pedal it Forward to celebrate the 150 anniversary of Bentonville. The Bike Drive's goal is to gather 150 bicycles which will be distributed to people who need them. They will accept used bikes and new bikes and donations will be taken at 3104 SW Bright Road and 401 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway on Jun. 2 between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (5 News Online)
  2. A man in nearby Fayetteville pled innocent to murder charges in his wife's stabbing. Police responded to an incident on Apr. 18 just before 9:30 p.m. after Marcus Joiner's wife, Amy, called 911 and said that her husband was intoxicated and aggressive. When police arrived, they found her body on the road with a knife in her neck, and Joiner was seen walking away from her body and was not responding to police officers. He went inside his home where he stabbed himself in the chest before being taken to the hospital where he was treated and then transported to jail. His next court appearance will be on Jul. 11. (5 News Online)
  3. Down the street in Gravette, the Gravette Fire Department received a donation of over $47,000 from the non-profit Care and Share Store. With increased traffic and newer materials being used for cars, it has been a challenge for the fire department to quickly get someone out of a vehicle. The donation will allow them to get battery-operated equipment so they can start operating on a vehicle extraction more quickly without having to take the time to set up the old equipment.
