- The FreshGrass Music Festival on May 19-20 will bring dozens of artists to the Momentary. The festival will bring a diverse lineup of music, including emerging artists in genres such as bluegrass, soul, pop, funk, and more. The House of Songs here in Bentonville will also be joining in on the festival this week, allowing artists to pair up with each other to create songs for the festival. They will then get a chance to record them at the House of Songs Studio after the festival. Current exhibitions at the momentary will also be available for festival-goers to view for free. - The Scott Family is donating 10 million dollars to the Amazeum for a community gathering building. The expansion will add 5,000 square feet of space to the 50,000-square-foot museum that bears the Scott Family name. The additional space will also support young learners at the museum. Details of the expansion and the construction timeline are all still being determined. (Axios)
- Bentonville has been named the Official Home of the U.S. National Mountain Bike Team. Team USA is already on the move for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, with the qualifying period already underway ending this month. As it looks to the Olympics in L.A. in 2028, they are focused on the road for Olympic athletes to put on Olympic Medal performances to go through Bentonville. With the city's expansive number of trails and facilities for biking, it is a perfect place for the National Team to Headquarter. The team's presence is also a win for the city, solidifying its claim as the mountain biking capital of the world. Now the entire Olympic Team will train and prepare for the 2028 Olympics in Bentonville. (Arkansas Online)
