  1. Coler Mountain Bike Preserve introduces new enhancements to 'The Rise' staircase. The exercise staircase just off the Greenway in Bentonville now has a new meditation platform and benches for people to rest on. The last 11 steps of the 185-step journey have motivational phrases on them carved in the wood. The preserve hopes that the enhancements will add a much-needed spot for people to rest and enjoy meditation in nature. (Fayetteville Flyer)
  2. The Patriot Park housing project for veterans could begin construction in August. The Fayetteville development will hopefully be approved by the city in June or early July. The development is expected to cost $12 million and be funded with the help of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, home federal block grant funds, and national housing trust funds. While this is for veterans they will still need to meet qualifications which means they must make 60 percent or less than the median household income adjusted to their family size. (KFSM 5Newsonline)
  3. Hearing dates have been set for a man arrested with a gun at a nearby Fayetteville preschool. Samuel Gray Lindsey, 23, was arrested in April for carrying a weapon, loitering, and obstructing governmental operations. Police apprehended him after they received a call from someone worried that he may go to the school to pick up his child who he did not have custody over. His hearing date is set for Aug. 2 and Aug. 3 - one of them for previous infractions by not appearing in court and driving on a suspended license. (KNWA)
