  1. Benton County officials recently heard a proposal to expand the county's juvenile detention facility. The proposal would add up to 12 beds to the center and is expected to be included in the 2024 budget plan. County Judge Barry Moehring says there is no plan to seek an additional tax from county residents in order to fund the expansion. (Subscription: Arkansas Online)
  2. A Bentonville man has been arrested after police say he took a woman's car after first stealing her key from a local courtroom. The suspect, 26-year-old Chase Packwood, is being held in the Benton County Jail on a $150,000 bond. He faces possible charges of theft of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a firearm by certain persons, and others. (Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)
  3. The Bentonville City Planning Commission has approved a conditional-use permit for a cycling event this October. Outerbike 2023 is scheduled to take place Oct. 20-22 and will showcase cycling products that riders can test ride and purchase. The event is expected to impact traffic near Southeast Eighth Street and will likely increase the amount of pedestrian and bike traffic in the area. (Subscription: Arkansas Online)
