The U.S. Coast Guard suspended the search for the missing boaters shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday after authorities searched over 390 square miles for 12 combined hours, according to the agency, which noted the search included boat, air and K-9 personnel.
“Suspending a search is always a difficult decision to make and weighs heavily on each Coast Guard member involved,” Coast Guard Cmdr. David Herndon said in an update Sunday. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those involved in the boat capsize.”
